Rev. Andrew Hopp
Rev. Andrew Hopp started serving RiversEdge United Methodist Church full-time on July 1, 2014. He grew up in the Spring Bay area. He went to Riverview Grade School, St. Mary’s Grade School and Metamora Township High School. He felt called to the ministry at an early age, but resisted the call in his teenage years and even more so during his early adult years. He has been a high school teacher, a computer support specialist, a database administrator and a data analyst before entering seminary in 2005 at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He graduated from MTSO in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Divinity and a Master’s degree in Theological Studies, and was ordained an Elder in full connection on June 3, 2011. He has a 14 year-old daughter, Abby, and 12 year-old son, Alex, who live with their mother in Normal Illinois.
Rev. Kristi Hopp
Rev. Kristi Hopp started serving RiversEdge United Methodist Church 1/4 time on July 1, 2014. Her focus at RiversEdge is facilitating small group ministries. She was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in June of 2014. Before transferring her membership to Illinois Great Rivers Conference, she was a provisional Elder in the Western Pennsylvania Conference. Her extended family lives predominately in that area. She has spent her life in various States throughout this great country. Her childhood was spent in the Southern states. She attended the University of Maryland and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology with additional degrees in education. After teaching high school science for one year, she answered the call to ministry and attended the Methodist School in Ohio. She earned both a Master’s in Divinity and a Master’s of Arts in Counseling Ministries. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois and Ohio and she proudly serves our Nation as a Chaplain at the 182nd Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard, based in Peoria, IL.
