Hello! My name is Judy Doyle. I am an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church. But I am also retired. I served at The United Methodist Church of Pekin for 17.25 years. The day after I retired, I was hired to serve as the Minister of Congregational Care. I ministered in that capacity for about 4 years, retiring again in January 2016. The old adage says: old ministers never die, they just go out to pasture (pastor). I guess that’s true. There is no retirement from Christian life whether one is a minister or a lay person. We are in ministry together. Over the next few months I look forward to ministering TOGETHER.
I enjoy writing. My husband and I published my first novel in March 2017. Many have asked for a sequel. It took 30 years to complete the first book. Not sure I have 30 years left to write one again.
I am married and we have one adult son. Our daughter lived only 6 weeks. It was the most difficult time we’ve gone through. But God is good ALL the time; all the time God is good. The experience helped me to grow spiritually and to lean more fully upon God. We have no grandchildren, so I love spoiling others’ children (including the children at our church, so look out).
